Think iPhones are expensive? Samsung official says foldable Galaxy phone will cost twice as much [ And will be purchased by even less buyers ]
Samsung is expected to unveil its first ever foldable Galaxy phone soon… for real this time. Samsung will give the phone a proper announcement this time around, and it’ll reveal all the details that it withheld from the press during its developer conference in early November, including an actual release date and pricing. The Galaxy F, or whatever Samsung ends up calling it, will be announced on February 20th, during Samsung’s San Francisco media event. Previous reports already said as much, but a Samsung exec confirmed it to Korean media, tackling the matter of pricing in the process…

Leak reveals yet another way the Galaxy S10 will outshine Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and Note 9

Leak reveals yet another way the Galaxy S10 will outshine Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and Note 9
A report earlier this week delivered the kind of Galaxy S10 battery news we didn’t want to see, especially considering some of the interesting battery rumors we had heard before. The new phones supposedly will not have faster charging speeds than their predecessors, including the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9. Those earlier models do support fast charging technology, but several Samsung rivals already offered much better solutions. However, a brand new rumor gives us a reason to dream again, because it claims that the Galaxy S10 might indeed get new faster battery charging tech…

WLinux & WLinux Enterprise Benchmarks, The Linux Distributions Built For Windows 10 WSL
Making the news rounds a few months back was “WLinux”, which was the first Linux distribution designed for Microsoft’s Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) on Windows 10. But is this pay-to-play Linux distribution any faster than the likes of Ubuntu, openSUSE, and Debian already available from the Microsoft Store? Here are some benchmarks of these different Linux distribution options with WSL…

The Western Digital WD Black SN750 SSD Review: Why Fix What Isn’t Broken?

The Western Digital WD Black SN750 SSD Review: Why Fix What Isn’t Broken?
Last year Western Digital overhauled their WD Black NVMe SSD with an upgrade to 3D NAND and a new in-house SSD controller, transforming the product line from one of the slowest NVMe drives to one of the top high-end competitors. Now the third generation WD Black SSD is here, with the model number SN750 to avoid confusion with its predecessors. (Internally, last year’s model was known as the SN700, and the OEM version was the SN720.) The new WD Black SN750 is an incremental update over last year’s model, keeping the same basic controller and 64L 3D NAND combination but refining the firmware and adding a 2TB option. Western Digital is also shifting their marketing efforts more toward gamers with the addition of SKUs featuring a large heatsink…

Last Readings From Dead Space Probe Reveal Something Surprising About Saturn’s Rings

Last Readings From Dead Space Probe Reveal Something Surprising About Saturn’s Rings
As the Cassini probe plunged into Saturn, it measured the gravitational pull of the rocks making up its iconic rings – and those readings tell us the rings might be a lot younger than we previously thought. In fact, they might have formed around the same time dinosaurs were walking the Earth, with scientists estimating that the rings formed less than 100 million years ago, and maybe as little as 10 million years ago. With Saturn clocking in at around 4.5 billion years old, it means the giant planet may have been without its distinctive halo for much of its life. Even from beyond the grave, Cassini is still teaching us more about our Solar System…

The Earth has been experiencing more frequent asteroid strikes [ Lately ]
How often does a big rock drop on our planet from space? As we’ve gotten a better understanding of the impact that did-in the dinosaurs, that knowledge has compelled people to take a serious look at how we might detect and divert asteroids that pose a similar threat of planetary extinction. But something even a tenth of the size of the dinosaur-killer could cause catastrophic damage, as you could easily determine by placing a 15km circle over your favorite metropolitan center…

Incoming Asteroid Will Get Up to Hundred Chances to Hit Earth, Astronomers Warn
Scientists around the world continue to fret over Apophis, a 325 metre-wide asteroid discovered in 2004 and appropriately named after the Ancient Egyptian god of evil, darkness and destruction. Apophis, or 99942 Apophis, as it is officially designated, is expected to come within just 37,600 km of Earth – a tenth of the distance between Earth and the Moon, on 13 April 2029, researchers from the Department of Celestial Mechanics at St. Petersburg State University have warned. In a report prepared for the Korolev Readings on Cosmonautics, set to be held in Moscow later this month, scientists say that the asteroid, which will be moving at about 7.43 km per second, will have multiple chances to strike Earth in the coming decades as it is impacted by our planet’s gravity…

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will teach House Democrats how to use Twitter
House Democrats are hoping new colleague Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez can show them the path to Twitter success. The New York congresswoman will join Jim Himes of Connecticut for a session, hosted by the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, “on the most effective ways to engage constituents on Twitter and the importance of digital storytelling” on Thursday morning, USAToday reported. Ocasio-Cortez, who has 2.43 million Twitter followers and 1.8 million on Instagram, had a viral moment just before becoming youngest-ever US congresswoman, when a Twitter user tried to use footage of her dancing in college to embarrass her…
